Preserving Existing Benefits

1. Economic Security: Federal Civil Service Annuities: Strong support of Cost-of-Living (COLA) increases; continuing evaluation of Consumer Price Index; and continuing monitoring of the Civil Service Retirement and Disability Fund (CSRDF).

2. Health Security: Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) Protecting the nation's most efficiently administered and cost-effective employer-sponsored health insurance program.

3. Providing Long-Term Care: Continuing support of the ongoing development of the federal long-term care insurance program.

4. Guaranteeing Medicare for Current and Future Generations: Protecting Medicare's guarantee of basic health security for older Americans at affordable and predictable prices.

5. Guaranteeing Social Security for Current and Future Retirees.

6. Preservation of Employer-Sponsored Health Insurance.

 

Enhancing Existing Benefits

1. Making Health Care More Affordable: Included in these provisions is to support legislation to amend Section 125 of the tax code for retirees to pay their share of health insurance premiums with pre-tax annuities.

2. Ensuring Fair Social Security Benefits for Government Retirees: Repeal or retire the Social Security Government Pension Offset (GPO) and the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP).
