The Floyd Bruce Community Service Award

The Floyd Bruce Community Service Award shall be awarded based upon an endowment established by the Bruce family in memory of the late Floyd Bruce, who was an ardent supporter of NARFE and the impact for the good of the community that NARFE members provide. The award shall be presented annually, starting with the Arkansas Federation Convention in 2006. The award shall be given to the member who demonstrates his/her commitment to NARFE and his/her community.

Guideline for the Award

1.    This shall be an annual award to an individual of $100.00.

2.    The award shall be presented at the annual Arkansas Federation Convention.

3.    The selection committee shall be appointed by the Arkansas Federation of NARFE President.

4.    The application deadline shall be April 1st.

5.    Each NARFE chapter may nominate one individual each year.

6.    No individual may receive the award more than once every five years.

 

Criteria for Selection - A Total of 100 Points Possible

A.    Demonstrate chapter involvement through the following:

    1.    Years of membership - Maximum points - 5

    2.   Regular attendance - Maximum points - 5

    3.    NARFE leadership - Maximum points - 15

    4.    Demonstrated promotion of NARFE activities and ideals - Maximum points - 15

B.    Demonstrated and performed a unique and critical need which improved the quality of life of individuals and/or the community - Maximum points will be 60.
