
Wouldn’t it be great if you could provide some money for college for a grandchild? It is possible with the NARFE Scholarship Awards Program. Each year, 6 scholarships are awarded to each Region in NARFE.
Eligibility starts with the applicant currently being a senior in high school and having at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. The NARFE member applying must currently be a member in good standing.

The 2007 winners of NARFE scholarships in Arkansas are Kara Humble of Brinkley, Ouachita Baptist University, granddaughter of Shelby Acklin, Chapter 966 and Chelsea Mansfield of Benton, Henderson State University, granddaughter of Paul Pool, Chapter 1368. A $1000. scholarship was awarded to each of these young people.
The next scholarship awards program will being on February 1, 2008. Your 2008 February, March and April issues of NARFE magazine will contain the official 2008 application and instructions.
