The 2010 Arkansas Federation of NARFE Convention will be held at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock, Arkansas from May 13 - 15, 2010. The webpage for the Wyndham may be reached by clicking on the address shown under the heading on this page.
All those attending must contact the Wyndham to make room reservations. You may contact the hotel directly at (501) 371-9000 or at (866) 657-4458. The room rate is $89.95 plus tax, for single or double occupancy ($10. each additional person in room). Three hot tub suites are available at the special rate of $109.95 plus tax, for single or double occupancy ($10. each additional person in room). Be sure to mention "Arkansas Federation of NARFE Convention" to get the special rate.
ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER APRIL 30, 2010.

Federation Committees at the Convention
At the 2010 Arkansas NARFE Federation Convention, delegates will have a chance to choose the committee they wish to serve on. Since there may be duplication and some committees may not have enough members, delegates are asked for both a first and second choice, with the understanding that they may be offered yet a third choice at the convention, if the first two committees they selected are full.
Those who plan to attend the convention as delegates, should send their two choices to Federation President Winston Wolfe by April 22, 2010 to:

Committee chairs should inform the President as soon as possible

Chapter Submissions to Federation Officers
By March 5, 2010, chapters are expected to submit:
1. Names to Federation President for Honors certificate.
2. A list of members deceased in 2009 to Federation Secretary Ann Crow (compile data from M-112 monthly reports).
3. Forms F-3a and/or F-3c for Resolutions or Amendments to By-Laws to Waymond Meins (see information further down on this page).
Filing Resolutions or Amendments to the By-Laws Forms for the Convention
If you are planning on filing a Resolution to be presented at the National Convention or an Amendment to the Arkansas Federation By-Laws, you must fill out NARFE Form F-3a (Resolution) or NARFE Form F-3c for an amendment to the Federation By-Laws.
In addition, for the By-Laws amendment, all amendments must be sent to each chapter at least 30 days prior to the start of the Federation Convention. For both the Resolutions and By-Laws submissions, please refer to the Arkansas Federation By-Laws, Article X. (Deadline as shown above is March 5th).

Filing Delegate, Alternate Delegate or Proxy Forms for the Convention
Chapters should ensure that each member of their chapter that attends the convention as a delegate, alternate delegate or proxy bearer submits a NARFE Form F-42. This form must be filled out in triplicate FOR EACH delegate, alternate delegate or proxy bearer (one entry per set of forms). For instance, if you have someone who will act as a delegate and also carry the proxy of the remaining votes for your chapter, two sets of forms must be made out. Chapters not able to send someone to the convention may have someone from another chapter carry the proxy for their chapter. The three copies are distributed as follows: 1 to the delegate, alternate or proxy bearer; 1 to the chapter and 1 sent to the Federation Secretary Ann Crow at 5401 S. 92nd St., Fort Smith, AR 72903. Forms must be sent no later than April 9, 2010.

Placing Ads and Bringing Door Prizes to the Convention
Chapters are asked to advertise the convention at chapter meetings in the months before the convention. Chapters are also asked to consider placing an ad in the Convention Program to help defray the cost of the convention. Delegates from the chapter are asked to bring one door prize per chapter with them to the convention. Ads may include boosters, as in the past, at the suggested rate of $1.00 per booster. The deadline to submit an ad is April 22, 2010.

2. Fill out and mail delegate, alternate delegate and proxy forms to Federation Secretary Ann Crow.
Deadlines for April 22, 2010:
Make reservation to get Special hotel rate.
Fill out and mail Registration Form (includes reservation for Friday night banquet and NARFE Night at the Travelers).
Fill out and mail ad form for chapter to George Wilken.
